In 2003, some of Dean 's clients began pointing out
that "no one has templates like you've developed for us.
You should sell your templates - even without the

A Systems Consultant with people skills There are many delighted clients that will attest to Dean's mastery of process improvement teachings and tools. In the years 1989 to 2003, Dean enjoyed a very successful consulting practice - labeling himself a truly independent and unbiased software selection consultant" - helping over 100 clients select & implement enterprise software. His clients chose him because he promised to "sit on your side of the negotiating table; and consider only your best interests" - and he delivered on every promise - not selling or supporting any one software solution, and not promoting any one "way of doing things" for process improvement. As a testament to just how truly unbiased Dean Ziegler was, his 100+ ERP software selection clients chose (and implemented) over 80 different software packages!
Dean was concerned by the fact that (even today) 50% of all ERP software projects fail - at an average cost of over $1,000,000, and several man-years of wasted effort. When he began searching for a body of knowledge to help project leaders overcome the #1 reason for project failure - people issues - he was as surprised as you might be to learn that the label on that body of knowledge is "clinical hypnotherapy". While the traditional fields of psychology and psychiatry focus inordinate attention to clinical neuroses and psychoses, clinical hypnotherapy is all about helping common everyday people overcome common everyday mental obstacles - like fear, worry, anger, sadness, turmoil, or confusion in personal life, and all of the other "soft stuff that is the hard stuff" of project management. (In the words of Dr. Michael Hammer, author of Reengineering the Corporation) So, despite trepidation about
the common misconceptions people still have about
hypnosis, Dean has taken an interest in clinical
hypnotherapy, and has earned the titles of Board
Certified Hypnotist from the National Guild of
Hypnotists, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist from
the Guild of Hypnotist Examiners, and Doctor of
Clinical Hypnotherapy from American Pacific
University (a 2-year alternative degree).
Dean's current passions are yoga, meditation, and music... playing (of course) keyboard. Dean volunteers his time
